Lighthouse 360 Review
Automated patient communication platform helping 11,000+ dental practices maximize patient visits
Our Verdict
Lighthouse 360 is the Henry Schein One patient communication platform used by over 11,000 dental practices across the US. It is arguably the most widely deployed dental-specific patient engagement tool on the market. Three consecutive Townie Choice Awards and a Dental Product Shopper "Best Product" nod back up the hype. But wide adoption does not mean it is the best fit for every practice -- especially at $329/month, where newer competitors offer sharper tools for less money.
Best For
Mid-size general practices in the Henry Schein ecosystem that want reliable, set-it-and-forget-it patient communication automation. Works with any PMS but integrates best with Dentrix.

What Is Lighthouse 360?
Lighthouse 360 (recently rebranded as Lighthouse 360+) is an all-in-one patient communication platform built specifically for dental practices. It handles automated appointment reminders and confirmations, two-way texting, online scheduling, patient recall and reactivation, reputation management, online reviews, and a patient portal.
The platform integrates with most major dental practice management systems, pulling appointment data automatically. When Lighthouse 360 launched in the early 2010s, it was one of the first dental-specific communication tools to nail automated reminders. Henry Schein One acquired it and folded it into their product suite alongside Dentrix, Demandforce, and other practice tools.
The 360+ rebrand brought compatibility with any PMS -- not just Dentrix -- which was a meaningful expansion. Practices running Open Dental, Eaglesoft, or other systems can now use Lighthouse without being locked into the Henry Schein stack.
Who Is It For?
Lighthouse 360 is built for general dental practices that want a comprehensive communication platform without stitching together multiple point solutions. Its sweet spot is the mid-size practice with 2-5 operatories that wants to automate reminders, reduce no-shows, and build online reviews without thinking about it too hard.
Multi-location practices and DSOs within the Henry Schein ecosystem get the most value, since Lighthouse integrates tightly with Dentrix and other Henry Schein One tools. If your practice already runs Dentrix, adding Lighthouse 360 is the path of least resistance.
Solo practices on a tight budget should look at alternatives like Weave or RevenueWell, which bundle phone and texting into a single lower monthly cost. Specialty practices needing complex communication workflows -- like oral surgery pre-op sequences -- may find Lighthouse's customization options too rigid.
Key Features
Automated Reminders & Confirmations: The core of the platform. Reminders go out via text, email, and voice at intervals you configure. Patients can confirm directly from the message. The system writes confirmations back to your PMS automatically. Multiple dental practices report significant no-show reductions after implementation.
Two-Way Texting: Real-time text conversations with patients from a desktop dashboard. Pre-built message templates speed up common exchanges. Message history is stored for the entire patient relationship.
Online Scheduling: Patients book appointments 24/7 through a web widget that syncs with your PMS schedule. Practices control which appointment types and time slots are available.
Recall & Reactivation: Automated campaigns target patients overdue for hygiene or treatment. The system segments patients by recall status and sends escalating reminders. Reactivation campaigns target patients who have gone dark.
Reputation Management: Automated review requests after appointments. Dashboard aggregates reviews from Google, Facebook, and other platforms. Respond to reviews from one place. Sentiment analysis tracks your reputation score over time.
Patient Portal: Patients can view treatment history, communicate with the practice, and access forms online.
Pricing
Lighthouse 360 starts at $329/month. That makes it one of the pricier patient communication platforms on the market -- Weave starts around $299/month but includes a phone system, and several competitors come in under $200/month for similar feature sets.
Henry Schein does not publish tier breakdowns, so you will need to talk to a rep for a custom quote. Multi-location pricing is negotiable. Implementation fees and training costs are not disclosed publicly.
The value proposition depends heavily on how much automation you actually use. If you deploy reminders, recall, reviews, and online scheduling, the ROI case is straightforward. If you only need basic reminders, you are overpaying.
Pros
- The most battle-tested dental patient communication platform on the market -- 11,000+ practices
- Automated reminders and confirmations genuinely reduce no-shows with minimal staff effort
- Two-way texting and online scheduling work reliably
- Reputation management dashboard consolidates reviews in one place
- Now works with any PMS, not just Dentrix
- Three-time Townie Choice Award winner with strong industry credibility
Cons
- At $329/month, it is expensive for what is essentially a communication tool
- Message customization is limited -- templates feel rigid compared to newer platforms
- Initial setup and PMS integration can be complex and time-consuming
- The patient newsletter feature is dated and not very customizable
- Some users report the interface feels outdated compared to newer competitors like Weave
- Henry Schein One's support quality is inconsistent -- large company, variable reps
The Bottom Line
Lighthouse 360 is the safe choice. It does what it promises -- automates patient communication, reduces no-shows, and helps you build online reviews. If you are already in the Henry Schein ecosystem, it is the obvious add-on. But "safe" comes at a premium. At $329/month with limited customization, practices that want more control over messaging workflows or a more modern interface should evaluate Weave, RevenueWell, or Intiveo before signing. The 360+ rebrand opened compatibility beyond Dentrix, which helps, but the product itself has not innovated as fast as the competition.
